Vintage:
2021 presented us with early bud break due to a dry winter and a warm start to spring. Despite cold nights at the beginning, posing a frost threat in the Columbia Valley, the warm to hot early-season conditions resulted in a smaller crop than usual. Late June brought intense heat, with temperatures peaking between 110-118 degrees Fahrenheit and lasting for almost three weeks. Yields were reduced, yet Sauvignon Blanc showcased high quality, thanks to beneficial cooling in late August and early fall. Red wines showed lighter color compared to the previous decade; however, Washington typically boasts an abundance of anthocyanin, ensuring wines remain well colored, albeit less so than in previous and subsequent vintages.

Winemaker notes:
Notes of muddled raspberry, blackberry, black currants and plum skin. A hint of dried herbs and black tea with sweet tobacco wafting in the background. The palate is juicy, with medium weight, fine tannins and a vibrant mixture of red and black fruits. Complex and still deliciously drinkable.
