2018 La Gran Flor (90% Malbec 10% Cabernet Sauvignon)
Intensely floral with hibiscus concentrate, violets, blackberry, huckleberry and an intense loamy minerality. Swirling adds more sweetness to the fruits with toasted pastry and a hint of vanilla bean and white pepper. The palate is seamless with an explosion of floral black fruits that are seemingly wrapped in silk. The combination of fruit and impeccable tannin linger for minutes.
2018 ALLEROMB – LA GRAN FLOR
Vintage:
The 2018 vintage was warm overall with ideal periods of cooling in the spring and fall. The amount of fruit was abundant and the conditions for developing some of the highest phenolic levels to date were nearly perfect. Incredible color was developed in the 2018’s leaving the wines with a plush feel and pure aromatics.
Wine:
Fermented entirely in concrete, the 2018 La Gran Flor was then aged only in 500L French oak barrels of which 50% were new. As has been the case for the past few vintages, the La Gran Flor continues to be nearly all Malbec with only small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Blend: 90% Malbec 10% Cabernet Sauvignon
Aging: 32 months in 50% new French oak.
